 We all know that Gavin is a little spoiled right. We also know that he has mommy and daddy wrapped around his little finger (but don't tell him that. right now he only suspects!). So anyway, Sunday night we had to go to Walmart after small group to get dog food and milk. Interesting combination I know, but it was the basics to get us through until payday this Thursday.
We made a fatal mistake. We went down the clearance aisle. You know the one where things are so jumbled up that you can't really tell what they have. Somehow though, from his seat in the buggy, Gavin spotted a box that was turned with just it's short end sticking out. The box was a blue drum set. Now if you have been around Gavin very much you already know that he loves to play the drums and his friend Austin has a blue drum set. Well anyway, Gavin wanted a blue drum set. When he saw it, his eyes lit up and he yelled out for all the world to hear "BLUE BOOMS!" So of course we had to take the time to look at them. They really did look cool.
Daddy was the good one this time. He looked at Gavin and said, "Not right now buddy." I said, "Oh why not, it is something he really wants and we can call this his completely potty trained prize!." Quick thinking on my part, I just didn't want to see the tears if we really said no! Gavin agreed that we would end his potty charting and consider him potty trained if we got the drums.
So the drums came home with us. Darren put them together and Gavin's face lit up with joy over his new "booms". He didn't think that Daddy would ever get them together. When he finally got to sit down and play his new drums, his face was just glowing. I wanted to share some of that glow with you in these pictures.
Just so you don't think that I was the only who wanted the drums....
After Gavin went to bed, who do you think tried to play a quiet drum solo? Your right, it was Darren. The answer to your question. No there is no such thing as a quiet drum solo.

What a great blog! Heather you are doing such a good job. We may need to get you some ear muffs because he loves playing the drums as loud as possible.
