How many out there know that I (Dare) am not wired correctly? Come on, now. Think about what I just asked you. You're talking to someone who collects Star Wars, plays with sharp tools, and is able to slide and get wet with a bunch of kids. Well, you may not have ever thought about my wires not being connected right, but I'm sure you have thought I had some loose screws.
Everyone should know by now that Heather isn't wired correctly. All of her weird medical conditions can only mean that a wire nut was left off somewhere. Well, I'm proud to say I can now join Heather in this club.
The other day I went to see my doctor. I try to avoid the doctor unless I'm concerned about something. Well, on this day, I became really concerned. For several weeks I've been having pain in my chest and up through my left shoulder. I'm a first responder and I've been trained to pick up on the early warning signs of a heart attack. Early on I thought it was just a muscle problem, but it wouldn't go away. I told the doctor of what was going on. He said it's very unlikely for someone my age to be having heart problems. However, since my blood pressure was 150 over 100, the doc decided to do an EKG and a chest xray. (The lower number is something I need to work on, but that's another story.)
Well, my heart is normal and nothing wrong. The one thing the EKG did show was that the electrical system in my heart was never connected correctly. I have a condition that is called Left Posterior Fascicular Block. This is nothing to worry about. It just means that the electric current cannot follow the correct path, but it has to go around the back way to do the same job. It delays something in the heart to fire on time. In your house electrical system, the current is carried on the black wire and is returned to complete the circuit on the white or neutral wire. Well, in this case, the neutral wire isn't connected properly. Instead of the current going back the normal way, it finds another neutral wire or another means of getting back to the source of the power. I am not wired correctly. Apparently, I've been this way since birth. I guess it's a good thing that my wires aren't crossed. When that happens it shorts the system.
Oh, as for the chest pain, the cartlidge connecting my ribs to my breastbone is inflamed. I'm on some anti-inflamatories. The pain should go away.
The next time you accuse me of not being wired correctly, I'll just smile and say "You Bet! And I'm proud of it!" |
