First Time Bowler
Today we are in Texarkana visiting with Grammie and Grandad. On the way into town last night, I decided it would be fun to go bowling. So today we made it happen. Gavin didn't want to go. He was more interested in Chuckie Cheese, but finally he agreed to go try the balls!
The first thing Gavin noticed when we got there was the popcorn machine. He knew he wanted some, but we steered him for the counter to pick up our shoes. Gavin got a special kids ball and we headed to our lane.
They had the lights off and the disco lights on. It was really neat bowling like that. Gavin got to go first and he loved it immediately. He would stick out his little tongue and shove the ball as hard as he could down the lane. Then he would do the Gavin dance all over his lane until his ball came shooting back up through the ball return.
Darren and I had fun too. I won the first game and Darren the second so it turned out alright.
Grandad didn't want to bowl so he was the official cameraman for us. About halfway into the first game, Grandad took Gavin to the snack bar to get some popcorn and sprite. Gavin really enjoyed that popcorn. He was shoveling it in between bowling for his pins.
All in all it was a great family outing. One that will go down in our memories as Gavin's first time to bowl!!!
