BOUSHH: "Just relax for a moment. You're free of the carbonite.Shhh. You have hibernation sickness." HAN: "I can't see." BOUSHH: "Your eyesight will return in time." HAN Where am I?
_________________________________________________ That's a good question Han just asked. Where am I? Or Where is Heather going? I don't know how Heather does this. I don't know what special force powers she has. If someone needs to see a doctor (especially a specalist) you would have to wait several weeks for an appointment. That's for the normal people. Then comes Heather with her very weird powers. Every since Heather's medical condition became a factor, she has been able to see any doctor very quickly. Turn around time is usally one to two days. Her PCP ordered a MRI. It was scheduled within hours of that visit. Well, that's normal. But is having the MRI within several days of the original visit normal? I think not. The same is true with her second MRI. When her PCP still couldn't find a problem, he referred her to a neurologist. The call was made, and the appointment's made for Heather to see Dr. Ironside in a matter of days. From our friends who had to see a neurologist, we were told we would have to wait at least 6 weeks. Yeah right. Dr. Ironside referred Heather to see Dr. Baltz (aka The Vampire). We were told the same thing. "You'll be lucky to get in within 6 weeks." Again, yeah right. Heather was seen within a week or two of her visit to Dr. Ironside.
Some may not believe in luck. They just believe in the will of the force. I don't know. The force and luck can work together and become a powerfull ally. Well, Dr. Ironside thinks Heather's inability to sleep could be the main problem for some of Heather's problems. Heather called his assistant Thursday, and she was set up for another doctor yesterday to consider a sleep study. She went and saw Dr. Davilla (aka Sandman) yesterday. She was told that her case could be considered as an emergency situtation. Guess what? She was scheduled to have a sleep study done tonight: one day after seeing the Sandman. I have a co-worker who has a sleep study scheduled for at least two months. Heather's power is scary. My question is "What is really in Heather's medical file?" "What makes Heather's case prone to jump out at all the doctors?" It's either that or she has some really awesome doctors.
Anyway, back to the sleep study. Heather has to be at Baptist by 8pm tonight. They're going to strap all kinds of things to her. She is supposed to go to sleep. One more time: Yeah right. Heather will be too nervous. Her mind will not shut down to go to sleep. She'll be laying down trying to figure out what all the probes are connected to. I'm sure the machines will humm or something else will keep her up. If she can't fall asleep, they will give her something to knock her out. Does the tech realize that if you give Heather somthing that normally knocks out an elephant will cause her to be wired? She'll spend the night there. She won't be released until around noon the next day. Another question, the MRI shows that Heather does in fact have a brain. Will the sleep study prove that her brain actually works? It will probably prove that her brain works too well.
That's what's been going on. We'll post an update as soon as we hear something. |

Wow! Them's some scary powers. Maybe she could teach me how to use it. "Force Persuasion" I think it's called.
Jenn & I are praying for your adoption process. Maybe once Heather gets cleared medically she can focus her 'powers' on the adoption peoples and speed that along. Then you could be adopting a kid within a couple of weeks!
I also need to get with y'all and schedule another small group. We've been very busy lately and just let it slid, but I really need to meet with y'all again.
Talk to you later
