| Adoption update |
"Enter the bureaucrats, the true rulers of the Republic, and on the payroll of the Trade Federation, I might add." -- Senator Palpatine
We have hit our first snag in the adoption process. We haven't made it to the application round. We're still messing around with the background checks. Since we haven't lived in the great state of Arkansas for at least 6 years, we'll have to go though the FBI background check. What does this mean? Well, it means at some point Heather and I would have to go to a police station. They would need to fingerprint us. We'll have to send the fingerprint cards to DHS along with a $48 check to cover the fees. End result: another week or two will pass before we find out if we can fill out the adoption application. All I can say is this is the work of our government. Hurry up and wait.
I finally got excited about adopting and then this. I have no words to describe the type of emotional roller coaster ride this will do for us. We'll hang in there. We'll keep pushing. Everyone else can keep praying and pushing for us.
There's a cute picture of Gavin and Heather in a pumpkin patch. We'll try to get that posted soon. |
