| Big, Bigger, Biggest or Small, Small, Smallest? |
--"Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not."-- Yoda
Life is fun. Life is an adventure. Life is chaos and at the same time planned. Life is learning to roll with the punches. Life brings hope. Life offers different points of view. Life happens. But you know what? I'd rather have life happen than to experience anything else.
Did I mention that Life was also crazy? Life in the Corbin household changed last week. Heather started keeping Paul and Jennifer's two kids. (Recap: Paul lost his job and now has his own business. They couldn't afford to keep the kids is daycare. Paul couldn't invest the time needed for his business if the kids were around. Heather volunteered to keep their kids 3 days a week) Life is full of adjustments. Heather and Gavin are having to adjust their days. Haven and Xander have to adjust to the new routine. From what I've heard, everything went really good last week. There are some issues, but that's normal. I mean think about it. Haven is 3. Gavin will be 3 next month. Xander will be 2 in November (I thinks). Heather is 30 (but has the heart of a kid). Something will always come up.
Speaking of Heather being a kid, I came home last Thursday and found all four of them having a good time. I was thinking Paul's kids would have left all ready. I walked through the door. At first it was quiet (a little too quiet). Heather said "We're back here (Gavin's room). I was thinking just her and Gavin. I put my stuff up and headed back there. (oh where is my hairbrush? back there?) I quickly got and gave a surprise. Haven came out of the room. I think we had an ET moment. We both screamed and ran the other way. Well, not really. Haven went back in the room and I continued my trek down the hall (keep in mind it's not a leng hall). The next thing I knew... BOOOM!!!! Something broke the sound barrier and collided with my mid section (actually, slightly lower). Gavin had realized his daddy was home. Energy and excitement was just pouring out of that little body. After I recovered, I just watched as all four of them were having a good time. Heather, Haven, and Gavin were playing a game called "Hide-under-the-blanket-and-where-did-I-go-game". Xander had no clue what was going on. He was doing his own thing. It was a fun sight not to mention a tad on the chaotic side.
Below is a picture of Haven and Gavin dancing with the Wiggles. Don't let the photo fool you. Gavin is several inches taller than Haven. I guess you can tell they were both having fun. (Also, if you look at the upper left part of the photo, you'll see the flowers I got for Heather. 7 yellow roses and 1 red = 8 years of marriage) Gavin loves having his friends over. I think he's taking on the role of the bigger brother. He would love to have a younger sister or brother. The excitement on his face is priceless. This is a good life-development process for both Gavin and Heather. I hope it continues well.

Yes, we are having fun. You only forgot to mention one thing. You played just as hard with them once you got home. So I guess I am not the only "big" kid!

That so cool. They look they are enjoying each others company. Kids are like little sparks of energy sent from God to zap some life back into us old 'grown ups'.
Thanks Heather, I'm glad my kids are able to hang with you and Gavin. I know they're enjoying it.
