Easter 2006
--"Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid."--Han Solo

Easter is not a "hokey religion" by all means. Easter is the day Christians celebrate Christ being raised from the dead. It's the gift of hope. However, many people lose sight of this the same way people lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas. Easter just like Christmas is too commercial. Easter from a business point of view sees an increase in candy sales, clothing sales, and everthing else. Where did the Easter Bunny come from? How is that supposed to be related to Christ? Did someone shoot it and it lived? I know. I get caught up in all the fun things of Easter as well. Easter is fun and should be celebrated with fun things. Having kids dictate the importance of having fun. Check out one of G's kids enjoying some Easter candy. http://whatisgthinking.blogspot.com/2006/04/chocolate-monster.html
Now that's some good stuff.

Darren the Dashing, Heather the Hilarious, and Gavin the Gifted had a great Easter Day. I think what topped it all of was having Uncle Patrick over. First we went to church. It was great for two reasons: 1) It was Easter. and 2)We were in our new church building! It was incredible! You could feel the energy and excitment everywhere. This is not your ordinary church. It is worth a visit. I'm sure I'll tell more about that later.

Heather made some Mexican Pork for lunch. (What? No Ham?) We wanted to be a little different from the common folks. It was really good. Heather is just an awesome cook. I'm sorry to say she has a lousy cleaning-man. Gavin enjoyed it so much that he didn't want to use his hands. He ended up having a sour cream mustache. Didn't get a picture of that. Bummer.

After lunch, we introduced Gavin to Easter egg hunting. Heather stuffed some plastic eggs with goodies and hid them in the front yard. It only took Gavin to find one egg and then the game was afoot. He looked high and low, far and wide. No stone was left unturned. Within a matter of minutes he found all the eggs. He was curious why the eggs made some noise. As a great boy would do, he found a way to pop the egg. Apple Jacks, Froot Loops, and animal crackers came flying out.

Here are some pics from Easter.

The cereal is a good idea. A lot cleaner than the chocolate.
