| The 2x4x2 Dance |

Heather's blood is now too thin. Her INR lever is now at 2.5. The doctor's happy that something is working, but he didn't like it jumping so high. He wants Heather's blood to be at 2.0. How can we do that if 3 mg wasn't enough and 4 mg is too much? Let me introduce you to the 2 by 4 by 2 dance. It's a very simple step once you learn the pattern. Here's how it goes...
You put your right foot in and your right foot out you. You put your right foot in and you shake it all about... wait! wrong one.
The 2x4x2 goes a something like this. Heather takes 2 mg tonight of her blood thinner. The next 2 days she will take 4mg and then back to 2mg for one day. Repeat this pattern for two weeks. Then see the doctor again. Simple, right? Can you see the problem? "Am i supposed to take 2 or 4 tonight?" Thank goodness someone invented the mighty pill box.
I think we're getting her blood close to normal. Heather's headaches and other body pain is still a common problem. One day we'll get Heather's body into a pain-free zone.
