Here's the famous WWI Ace on top of his trusty ride. The Red Barron closes in and tries to shoot our hero out of the sky. On no! His plan is hit. He can still fly but can't maneuver. What is the Flying Ace going to do? The Red Barron nearly has him in his sights. What's that coming low over the horizon? It doesn't have the markings of the enemy. It doesn't have any markings. It looks like someone forgot to paint that plane before it left the factory. Trusting his gut, the flying ace changes course and heads to meet this new friend/foe? Dang it! The Red Baron saw his moving and has put in a intercept plot. Is it possible? That wooden plane is starting to fly faster. It's starting to lay a steady fire at the Red Baron. The range isn't close enough for a direct hit, but it's serving as a distraction. The Flying Ace grins. He knows he will live one more day to fight again. He heads back to base. The wooden plane zooms pasts tipping its wings in salute to the brave fighter pilot. The flying ace wonders. Why would someone dress in a red fur coat? Little does the Flying Ace know, that plane is being flown by the legendary hero from sesame Street, Elmo and his co-pilot, Gavin. Together this duo flies into situations and always saves the day. I am so pleased that this old wooden airplane has some life again. This plane was made by my grandfather for me in 1984. (I know this because the date is carved underneath the plane's wing) Somehow he figured he needed help flying the plane, and for this type of plane he needed goggles. The creativity astounds me. He's good. Just like his momma.
