The Pictures of Christmas

Oh Christmas Tree, OH Christmas Tree. I can't see you through the presents.
They're tall and wide and in bags and wrapped.
They may tumble if you sneeze.
Oh Christmas Tree, OH Christmas Tree. I can't see you through the presents.
(to the tune of O Christmas tree)

`Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house no Gavin was running.
and the parents were glad. The presents were stacked by the tree with care in hopes that it would stay quite there. Uncle Patrick was nestled on the floor while visions of mashed potatoes lurked ashore. Grammie also on the floor and mamma on the couch had just settled down to take a picture. When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the floor to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash. Tore open the curtains and threw up my hash. (okay I need to stop there. I'm getting waaaaay off subject.)

As you can tell by the picture above, there were a lot of Christmas presents. I'm suspecting the majority of those packages were for Gavin the Coon. (Gavin the Gifted has become Gavin the Coon for several weeks). This was before Santa came. Somehow, that stack grew over night.

Big and small. It doesn't matter. When you open a gift and it's good, you'll get a huge smile. Gavin's face lit up when he discovered at the bottom of the mound of packages was a brand new jeep. He stopped all gift opening in order for him to test drive his jeep. He went all over the house.

I didn't stop the unwrapping of gifts for what I got. (tempted? yes) By the expressing on my face can anyone guess what was inside? A car? A boat? A train? (come on. it's simple) I'll give you a hint. It's related to Star Wars. Still don't know? GEE! If you don't know than you haven't read any of my other posts. Shame. In that bag that made me smile was the Star Wars Saga DVD Trivia Pursuit. Yes, I've all ready beat Heather at one game. (I was sweating. She's good at being lucky) Now do you understand why my smile is so cute:) Paul, let's get together.

Now, Christmas is not just for opening presents. Christmas is a time to gather with family and enjoy the blessings that we all have. Some times the best gift is enjoying the love that surrounds you. Christmas time is full of magic and surprises. Gavin discovered a great piece of magic in the upstairs of Granmie and Grandad's house. In Heather's old play room, Gavin found a kitchen set that was made by his great-grandad. It's a stove, sink, and fridge. This was something Heather played with when she was a little girl. The excitement Gavin had when he discovered this was wonderful to experience. He would spend a long time turning the knobs, washing pots and pans, and cooking different things. (His horse steak didn't turn out that good) Whenever he was down stairs, Gavin would find someone to go with him back upstairs to do some more cooking. It just goes to show that no matter what new toy they get the kids will always find the old stove in the attic to play with. Kids are amazing!!!!

Just like all good things, Christmas has to come to a close. It was fun and there are more pictures I'll eventually get posted. I'll leave you with one more picture of Gavin. It sums it all up.

There should be more in this box. Where did it all go?
