| Before and After |
The picture on the top is the normal Gavin. He's laid back and chilling with his trains. On the bottom is three days after the TV and Gavin had a close encounter. (For more details please see the post "Gavin's turn to Dance.") Kids can bounce back from the darnest of things. Gavin has two black eyes. His left eye is ha lfway
swollen shut. His forehead is brusied and has a huge knot. Still, he is running through the house. He's wrestling with Daddy. He is getting on mommy's nerves. He looks at himself in the mirror and starts laughing at himself. There's something to learn from his attitude. Life comes with bumps and bruises. It's important to not sit and reflect woe is me. I think at times we all need to pick ourselves up and continue. We need to remember life is fun and exciting. Gavin has shown me this week something I haven't thought about until just now. I need to look in the mirror and start laughing at myself again. Gavin's desire to enjoy life is contagious. Yes he had a major head injury earlier this week. You know what? That has not slowed him down one bit. He is a remarkable little man. |
